"Stacy created such a felt sense of safety through her gentle leading.
She empowered us to dare deeper exploration of our stories and created a connection among writers."
- Kristinjoy Taylor, Memoir Student
As a creative nonfiction writer, a former literary magazine editor and teacher, Stacy brings forward the beauty and wonder of the human experience through words. Whether writing her own stories or illuminating the path for other writers, Stacy believes all of life is material, and in drawing out the deeper meaning of our moments through the artful craft of language, we come home to ourselves, finding comfort, connection and healing on the way.
Stacy holds an MFA in Creative Writing, and she has taught college-level English and adult memoir writing. Her writing has appeared in numerous newsstand magazines from the Boston Globe Magazine and Reader's Digest to Adoptive Families, been featured in literary magazines such as The Quotable and The Pitkin Review, curated on Medium and short listed for both the VanderMey Nonfiction Prize and the Curt Johnson Prose Awards.
"Stacy's memoir is marvelous: perfectly balanced, riveting, relentlessly honest, hilarious."
- Jane Summer, author of Erebus and The Silk Road
Alongside an award-winning career as a copywriter and creative director, Stacy co-created the first line of greeting cards bringing empathy, understanding and celebration to the adoption journey.
A mother to two daughters and two lovable black Labs, Stacy is an avid half-marathon runner, a copious reader and volunteers for a nonprofit bringing dogs and kids together to foster reading.
Stacy has been known to go into a coffee shop and come out with a life narrative, or to encounter deep conversation by an airport gate, because she knows each
of us has a story to tell for us all.
